Air Drying Phosphates

These are organic based phosphate etch processes, which improve the corrosion resistance and increase the adhesion of subsequent finishes.

The process forms a sealed phosphate coating and can be used as an alternative to conventional pretreatment processes. It is particularly suitable for treating components, which are too large for aqueous based treatment systems. It is also ideal for treating shot blasted components which require some temporary protection.

Air Drying Phosphates are suitable for use on steel, zinc and aluminium surfaces, also affording some degree of temporary protection, particularly on steel surfaces if the work has to be stored prior to painting.

When used on a mild steel substrate Metphos CL 333 Air Dry Phosphate Etch has given 1000 hours Neutral Salt Spray Corrosion Resistance with less than 2mm creep from the score.
